Every month Knoxville has this thing called "First Friday" on, well, the first Friday of each month. Basically, a bunch of art galleries in the downtown area are free to the public that evening. They also have food, wine, and punch for free or for a small donation, depending on the gallery. Jeremy and I usually try to go, but don't make it each month. Yesterday we went and one of the galleries was having a silent auction! We ended up winning two pieces:

We have also bought two other pieces from another gallery in the past few months. A vase and a penguin sculpture:

The vase's colors aren't quite that bright in real life. Funny what a flash does.

I like the penguin the best. What an odd mixture of art...

Ah....so now you add patron of the arts to your vast repertoire of interests! And once again you do something I wish I had done...start a collection of art...randomly!

repertoire: a hard to spell word with a hard to find spelling

Did I mention that I really like the vase...?
