Tax Season!

Jeremy is such a nerd. Every year, about the second week of January, he starts getting excited about doing our taxes. I mean he really gets excited. He'll even start "putting the numbers in" before all the tax info arrives just "to see what we can expect." It's pretty funny. Twice this past weekend I had to tell him it was time to put the tax stuff away and step away from the computer so we could go do something else, such as go to his work party.

I really like that he likes to do taxes because it means I don't have to worry about it. I don't hate doing taxes. In fact, I don't really mind it at all, but I certainly don't get the same type of enjoyment out of it he does so I'm happy to pass over all my W2's to him and let him go at it. We think he likes doing taxes so much because his mom is an accountant. Surely he must have gotten some of those genes. What else could explain it?

I wonder the same thing. I've got a friend here whose husband is the same way, and he's not an accountant either so it's also weird. I spend time most of the year hearing her little day-to-day gripes about stuff he does that drives her nuts, but around tax time she stops complaining about the little things, talks about this instead, and I'm never surprised. It all starts up again after taxes are done. ;)

Wow, that's unusual. But if it gets you out of doing taxes, fantastic!
